This Saturday, March 15 the Agrarian Sharing Network is hosting a Propagation Fair just south of Corvallis.

Bring your surplus seeds, potted plants and/or well-labeled cuttings to share. Feel free to come completely empty-handed, too.

We, the Sharing Gardens, have allied ourselves with the Agrarian Sharing Network (ASN) and the Seed Increase Initiative (SII) - both founded by Nick Routledge (see video at bottom of post). They describe themselves as:

...a decentralized, collaborative network, focused on distributing plant and seed diversity to friends and neighbors and creating a shareable reproducible model for others to implement. It’s as much about the plants as it is about the people.

Each year, ASN and SII are responsible for collecting and redistributing massive amounts of seeds*, much of which have been cultivated and saved by local, small-scale farmers such as the Sharing Gardens - all on a free/donation basis. Since our philosophies are so similar, we are very glad to align our project with theirs. *(As well as other plant material).
